Your instructor will teach you about dive equipment, the science of diving, responsible diving practices and the environment. you will also learn many skills in the water with practice time for your safety and comfort, and complete your training with a minimum of four open water dives.
The Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
- Classroom time to understand basic principles of scuba diving (completed online and reviewed in classroom before pool)
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills. ( conducted at a local pool usually U of L pool)
- Open water dives to use your skills and explore the new underwater world, can be booked during the summer in Waterton, on one of our trips, or by referral with another instructor while on your next holiday. (Open water dives with us are $225.00 plus GST) see Open water section for more info.
